Last I checked you could still "build" one on the Jeep website. No idea if they are still in production.

I'd have to take the head, the oil pan and the timing cover back off. Hours worth of work to redo. Plus there is no guarantee it won't happen again. I am being VERY careful and am taking my time.

What I don't understand is why does it matter? Sure it's helpful to have the painted links on the chain line up but the important bit is the hash marks on the idler gear lining up with the edge of the head. I do wish I could see the chain and whether or not the single painted link lines up with the dot on the crank shaft gear and, if not, how far off is it? At least I'd feel better.

It won't start with the chain or cams out of time.... Pull the timing cover
