Yup. I figure it is about 50/50 if it ever runs again.

The replacement oil pump chain guide (which also "guides" the timing chain) should arrive today. I get to take the timing cover off again so I can replace the one I rather foolishly broke last weekend. Next comes the oil pan. Then I get to reinstall the head and valve train. THAT is the part I am most nervous about.

The cylinder walls look fine to me. I can't see any evidence of damage or scoring. The tops of all the pistons, however, have a fair amount of burnt on sludge on them that doesn't seem too bad but I don't know what is "normal" or not. If they are supposed to be clean or relatively clean, I have a problem.

Depends how many extras bits you have left once you put it back together. You may have to to beg Chris to come help. Lol.

I put every bolt, bracket and part in its own zip-top bag (at least those that would fit) that I very carefully labeled with painters' tape and a sharpie. I may not remember all of the steps and the order in which I did them but I am confident I know what I took off and where it is supposed to go.

At least I hope.
