did that for a while also. Took it for inspection and it failed. Waiting forever to fix everything. Ended up with a new exhaust, side markers and new wheels and tires. Took so long that I had to re-register it with the city.

The DMV was a poop show when we moved because of the pandemic. I did manage to get the right appointment to get the car registered but I never got it inspected so the short term registration they gave me expired. It's been sitting ever since.

It would have been super easy to get the inspection as soon as the DMV gave me my stickers but I was too distracted with the other cars so I sort of forgot about it. Now it not only needs the inspection but I have to go back to the DMV to re-register it and get new stickers.
