I probably could have just popped the cover back on but another car ran over it before I could recover it so that was the end of that. The guys at the rental counter were not surprised. I'd say most of the cars I saw had some sort of damage to the far side mirror. Fookin narrow streets.
Here are some of the pictures I took driving it in LA. Its a driver spec Baltic Blue hardtop (one of 77) it was originally a non-turbo manual, but all the turbo guts have been swapped into it, GTE engine, V160 trans, big diff, axles, brakes etc. It has lots of aftermarket goodies and a built engine, but there is still LOTS for me to fix.
Probably not a favorite with CHP.
