Here's what I'll do... No matter where we go, I'll keep a camp chair and a few cigars in the trunk. That way, should it blow up, we will have something to do while we wait for the tow truck.

honestly my one fear is the inability to seek help because if we don't see you or you don't see us - that's pretty much it. Since the phones are useless and nobody uses the radios AND EVEN IF WE DID you/we would be out of range by the time one would think to try it.

I looked at George's route and I think that southern loop is a littler closer to civilization. If not, at least out of the high ridges. If my memory serves me, communication down there isn't as bad as it is in the immediate "Dragon" area.

But... Yes... You are absolutely correct. That is my single biggest fear about taking a geriatric car to the middle of nowhere.
