The satisfaction of building it and sharing it with the public (giving it to the library)

I do not remember how long ago this was but Gilly Steve told us about this guy out in Colorado who retired young and was convinced that he could live super-frugally but comfortably in a middle-class lifestyle. It struck me as being Depression Era type thinking - "Use it up and wear it out. Do with what you have or do without." The guy built his own house with little to no experience and was always talking about how he was going to fix/upgrade everything. blah... blah... blah... Never spent a dime on anything he didn't need. Pretty much nutz, in my humble opinion.

ANYWHO...

He calls himself Mr. Money Mustache.

I am sure it is working just fine for him but couldn't see how his ideas would work outside of the practically perfect world he has built for himself. Way too hard and seriously unrealistic. Just my $.02...

I swear I am not nutz. I very clearly remembered reading a bunch of the dude's blog posts and I know I heard about it from Gilly Steve. Some of it kind of makes sense but what you have to go through to make it work is, IMHO, hyper-unrealistic.

That type of person is whacko. I worked with one of those. I'm surprised he had indoor plumbing - running water/electricity outside of a generator.

No clue what Mr. Mustache has to do with anything.

...something about people who think buying an $800.00 lego kit is stupid and a waste of money vs people who don't think so. The age old argument. I don't like what you like therefore what you spend your money on is a waste and stupid.
