I got to admit that I am a little jealous... We are in the 80 to 90 percent coverage zone but I don't think it is going to provide a particularly spectacular view (if anything at all). Being in the path of the totality would be WICKED though... I am sure there are going to be bagillions of pictures and videos and all that crap but it won't be the same as what you will get to see, Alex.
P.S. Please let us know if you feel like going all "Incan human sacrifice" on us. The gods are angry! MUST SMASH!

I looked on slickdeals.net and it says the deal is done. There is one for $42 with instant delivery though.

I saw a sort of "this is what you should expect to see" type report on TV yesterday. What I got from it was that, unless you are in the path of totality, it will feel a little like a cloudy day because it doesn't actually get dark until something like 98% of the sun is covered by the moon. The greater DC/Baltimore area is something like low 80% coverage so we ain't gonna see squat - fancy-pants glasses or no.

Put down sod in part of the yard about 6 weeks ago. Promised myself I wouldn't do it again. Did more sod this weekend because the original patch looks splendid. I have the dumb.

The only advantage to sod is "insta-green." You still have to water the hell out of it just like grass seed. There is a family up the street from me that had a home built last year or so... Their yard looked like poo for most of that first Spring but they kept up on the watering and now it looks great. All they did was seed and straw. Maybe there is hope for my yard? Hahaha...
