I really appreciate all of your inputs. Gives me a lot to think about. The UMT is "accredited" and considered to be worthy for the military's Tuition Assistance to pay for so I don't come out of pocket. I believe the TA only covers schools that are accredited. I guess it's not the popular name brand school, but hopefully still considered worthy enough because of the accreditation. I tried to go to ITT tech long ago but the TA didn't considered it to be accredited. And I think I remember seeing an article some months ago that ITT got shut down or something. I could be wrong about that.
I need to start somewhere. And time is kinda of the essence. I hit 18 total years in the army in a couple weeks, but 15 of that is active. Meaning, I would need 5 more years of full time active service to get a retirement at 20 years. I want to have something before I get out. If i'm able to bust my ass off on getting a degree before I retire, I will do so. I've slacked enough dealing with Army life, *and play time*. I just hope that employers will consider UMT at least a "decent" school should I come with a bachelors from it.

Just because a school is "accredited" does not mean it is worth it. All of the for-profit schools will tell you they are accredited but their degree programs are still a joke. They have a place, don't get me wrong... But the recruiters for the big companies are wise to it and will immediately reject anyone who has those names on their resumes. I have been told this first hand. I swear I am not making it up.

I honestly don't know how I have made it this long without a degree. You should do it if you have the means. Allan, are you planning to retire from the Army soon?
