Yeah, we had to run a small one in our bedroom and a bigger one on the main floor. The one on the furnace left the show a while ago.

The rain yesterday washed a lot of the crap out of the sky.

We have been running a little one in our bedroom for years. The rest of the house just suffered. Now, the one on the heater does it all.

My only complaint about it (and it is a big one, unfortunately) is that it is SUPER noisy. The fan in it is, IMHO, cheaply made and no effort was done whatsoever to make it quiet. I imagine that this isn't an issue for most people who would have the HVAC blower in the basement or some far corner of their home. Ours is RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BLOODY LIVING ROOM! I messed with the thermostat got it to, for the most part, only run when we either are asleep or not home. When it is really dry, it will still kick on while we are watching TV. Got to add several bars to the volume to compensate.

The blower itself is actually really quiet most of the time because it is variable speed. It is only borderline obnoxious when it is going full whack which it does not do often. This is the main reason we spent as much money as we did on the new system.

The damn fan on the humidifier, on the other hand, is louder than the fart fan in an old Route 66 no-tell motel bathroom.
