Meh, I had to get a new head unit, so I got one with carplay. It's nice, but I just want waze.

Does the phone just go "useless" when you connect it? I am thinking of what happens to my iPod when I connect it to the Alpine HU in my S - it shows the Alpine logo on the display and the buttons stop working. The only way you can work it is through the HU.

It would be nice if it would only take over the music functions. Let me run my apps! kthxbye.

JVC head units let you choose control from the ipod or the radio

No, you can unlock it, but whatever app is showing on the phone will show up on the screen if it is supported. otherwise it will show the home screen on carplay.
