Default what do you think?

I'm about to hit 14000 miles and I'm planning a trip up to Ohio this weekend...do you think I need to bust my butt and get new tires now (I need them at 15000 with the way I drive) or wait...

What do you think?

I would get some before hand, better safe than sorry. I drove to ATL on a bad set and hit some freaky weather, I am lucky I made it home!!

You need to go ahead and get a new set of tires. The weather this time of year is too unpredictable. You never know when you could run into a thundersorm.

The fact that you got 14k miles out of your original tires, still has me confused.

Ok, tires are good at the last 1/32" of tread. If you have that much, keep them for track tires.

But I have to agree, long trips on tires you can see the air through the tread is a death wish.

Let us know what you get.

I still think you should replace your tires though. I tried to get more life out of my first set of tires than I should have, and I regretted it. Worn S02's on a wet road aren't fun at all! Kalan in Carolina had 15k on her tires and ended up doing a 360 in the middle of the highway during a rainstorm. She too, will never again let her tires get too worn. Be careful and have fun!
