The only repair I'd consider running on would be a patch. Have them unmount the tire and lay a flat patch on the inside. DO NOT run a plug on the track. I'm not 100% sure I'd even run a patched tire on the track, though.

Started a thread in the racers section here: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...&f=11&t=305220

seems that one guy has ran plugged tires before with no problems. If your tires are almost gone, I would just go ahead and get new ones. Maybe borrow a buddies front tires that are near the end of their life.

Just got a nail/screw in one of my front tires. Now what? Can it be repaired in a "track-worthy" way? Seems like I've read that plugs are a no-no.

Thanks.

I agree 100%. At the speeds you'll be driving its just not worth the risk.

Leaving for today. Probably won't be able to check the net until I get back.

Yes, thank God. A few exciting spins, but no damage. One spin was the result of either an oil filter O-ring failure (blew out a portion of it) or the filter spinning off (resulting in the appearance of an O-ring blowing out). Luckily, it appears that there was no engine damage. The oil filter was replaced, oil added, engine cleaned up, and the engine started with no bad sounds. The car was driven back to Atlanta last night. Haven't heard yet that it got back okay. I hope so.

Someone post on that for us. Did Billy and his car get home okay?

Wow! Most likely a filter spin-off as daily driving will not tell one that the filter needs to be on tighter.

Glad to hear it was a safe and fun time.

Yeah, definitely a fun time. As far as I know, Billy got home ok with no problems. He shut off his car as soon as he lost oil so he should be good. Thanks, everybody for coming out. This is really a fun track to run. Maybe I'll see some of you again in November at Roebling.

BTW, Ron and Sheila, we found the cat on the roof of the building this morning. I told Bob that we should FedEx him to you
