I think they look good for an amatuer. I can tell the pictures were takin with a really good camera (even if I didn't know what you used). I think you could get much better with some practice but I think the biggest difference would come from a sports lens.... you know one of those $$29,847,385,974,574,597.05 ones

I need a flash for my camera as well. I think that would be a good start; but, I would like to sell my current camera and upgrade to maybe a D80 because it has the motor to run more lenses!

I think this is the flash that Jon has, the cool thing is you can have multiple flashes to take care of some of those unwanted shadows. and.... they'll also work with the higher end nikons
