Fixed the link above. All you guys, and girls, that have wanted to get on the track - this is the best opportunity to see if you like it...as Keith said it is highly addictive. Another cool pic courtesy of Keith:

Ok guys... I've joined the SCCA, ordered my SA2005 spec helmet (G-Force Pro Eliminator), and I'm ready for the track! I'm still debating between doing the full day and doing the $55 test drive, this will be my first event of any sort that I participate in and would love to have one of you guys (SlipAngle79) as my instructor, as you're more than familiar with the S2000... honestly, I'm mostly worried about breaking traction in turns when VTEC kicks in.... especially since Gateway has walls!

A few questions:
- Do we need to sign up in advance, or do we register on the day?
- Do we need SCCA membership for the 20min PDX?
- Do we get to choose between Dave, Nick, Keith or Ali for the PDX?
Advice please:
- Should I get a track/UK spec alignment done before Saturday?
- Should I get a brake bleed too?
Dave, I still have your bucket - plan to bring it on Saturday... may need to wear it if it's SA2000 approved

Good questions, I signed up for the SCCA since I know I'll be doing AutoX this year...
Right now I'm leaning towards doing the $55 test drive and then signing up for the next full day PDX if I'm happy with everything.

Graham-
I forwarded your questions to Chuck Deprow and Bob Mondeschein at the SCCA. I will post answers as soon as I get them as they are good questions.
Regarding the car -
If you only run 1 session it is questionable if you need to bleed the brakes but I would do it if it was my car. As for the alignment, this is how my car is set up:
Front
Camber: -2.0
Caster: 5.5
Toe: 0
Rear
Camber: -2.2
Total toe: .4 "toe in"
This proved to be the best setup so far for my basicaly stock AP1 with stock sized RE760's. The concept was to get as much camber possible while preserving 0 toe in the front and .4 total in the rear. If you want to optimize the on-track performance of your stock S2000, these settings should show a huge improvement in overall grip during cornering. Cold pressures were 30psi all around and I may drop that by a pound or two this time, but the wear lines were jus about perfect above the sidewalls.

[QUOTE=Su2uKa,Apr 20 2009, 10:54 AM]- Do we need SCCA membership for the 20min PDX?

Thanks Nick - so: more camber, a little more rear toe-in, & more (less?)* caster...
* not sure which way is 'more' caster
