New Tires Are In
Tired of looking at the wear bars and no tread on the rears. Luckily I talked to some of you prior to purchasing, or I'd had bought the wrong size. Now I know why most switch from the S-03's to another brand....the front's were tolerable (which forces me to stay with them - have new fronts), but the rears 245 45 16's were expensive, even on sale with another 10% off. Hopefully they'll last for awhile. Could proably have milked another 500 or so miles off of them, but next week I'm taking some time off and heading to Knoxville and the Dragon (assuming the weather holds and nothing blows up at work) and will need some tread on the tires for the turns.

When you're ready to change out your front tires, consider Wheel Image and as for Paul (see link for info)

Got the new rears installed on Friday. Put on the 245 45 16's that was recommended...like them, sure beats riding on wear bars. The issue though....on the tire thread they state the fronts remain the same 205 55 16's. The 10mm difference is quite noticable in appearance. Standard on the S2000's is a 5mm drop from front to rear. Though noticable when looking at the tires, I don't notice any difference in handling. Recommendation would be to go with the 205 50 16's for the front if you're changing the rears to the 245's. Now about Sear's......good install, but just took way too long when ordering and paying (required full pymt prior to ordering)......they billed my card 3 times and refunded twice before they got it right....at least I'm hoping they got it right.....will find out in a few days when everything flushes through on the card.

Back from my trip and the Dragon Drive down on Tuesday was not so fun with all the road construction and a ditch mower (being pulled behind a John Deere) that decided to throw debris at me (only a couple of scratches, not bad considering how hard it hit). Rest of the week had great weather and the drive back on Saturday was nice as the road crews had the day off.
The Dragon was a blast and almost a little tiring....318 curves in 11 miles and of course you don't stop at the end, you go on another 20 miles or so (so a few hundred more curves) and then you have to come back through it again. So by your 1000th curve maneuvered, you're about done. Great time of the year to run the Dragon as all the leaves are turning and it's not too cold, so the top was down. Lots of bikes, mostly cruisers, though there were some sport bikes. Only came upon one group that were really screaming...they were nuts. Saw a number of groups that looked like they were either getting ready to run it or had just finished. Only saw one car running it, a new corvette, and it was going fast. It would be fun to have another car or two to push you a little harder, but then, of course the risk factor goes up dramatically also.
Had my brother with me and he looked like he would have preferred a little slower trip through there, but we made it out alive and didn't crossover into the other lanes.....as fast as those bikes were going, one crossover and somebody wasn't coming out.
Posting a few pics below so you can get an idea of the type of country it is up there.
Yeah, I know....next time I gotta get out of the car or take off the mirror. Not the best car for sitting in for a picture.
