Anyone have a pair of RE050s?
Looking to replace my tires since the rears are on their way out... anyone have a set of the AP2 OEM tires for the rear with decent treadlife? If not I'll probably have AutoTire in Chesterfield order me some Sumitomo HTR Z IIIs or possibly even some Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec if I feel like breaking the bank...

I just got Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Specs and can say they are awsome especially for the money. Graham was just asking me about these as well but I couldn't find a good thread to post in.
They are an upgrade to the oem tires. I can feel the better grip around the corners (the warm weather helps too) and I also had a little problem with bumpsteer that is now eleminated.
Another thing thats hard to explain. I'm getting better feedback from the tires as well because I can feel the grip of the tires better and can tell when they are not close to breaking loose when accelerating around the corners. My OEM REO5Os just felt numb and unresponsive at times...
I'm still in the break in period and expect even better results after a few more miles.

Just pulled the trigger on the Sumi HTR Z IIIs... the reviews for the Dunlops are overwhelmingly positive, especially for those that autox or track... but it was a little bit too much $$ than I can afford now. From Tirerack's testing... the Sumi's outperform the OEM RE050s... so we'll see!

So far so good with the Dunlop Direzzas! Keith is correct, I haven't really pushed them too hard yet (I run r compounds on the track, so not there either). I will say I have some fun on them from the 270S to 44E entrance ramp though!
