Default AEM CAI issues

So my charcoaled colored AEM CAI keeps disconnecting where it connects in the middle of the 2 pieces..I'm talking on a daily basis.. so last night I had enough and replaced it with the stock airbox.. I miss the sound of the CAI but was getting tired of having to fix the CAI most of the time daily.. any solutions anyone on how to get the thing to stay together???

New connecting sleeve?

Wrap the end of the tubes in duct tape or something similiar to make the pipe into a bigger diameter?

Smaller hose clamp?

I think that you need a support at the bottom. Gravity is working against you. I think when we did ryan's that there was a bottom support so that it would not fall down.

jimmi is correct. there was a bolt and ruber piece that is attached from the car to the intake at the bottom of the cai for support.

Based on your description, you likely lost the soft mount hardware. There should be a rubber 'cylinder', a couple washers, and a long screw/nut used to hold lower section of the CAI.

Hope you did not lose the bracket. Apparently they've been know to break on occaision. See note from 'prostreetonline' website:

Q: What does the soft mount do and how important is it?
