I already rev to 9, my understanding is that I will get more power with the AP1 Cam.

MORE AP1 parts for your AP2?

jk ... i've even decided to hold onto my AP1 ecu just to be able to rev to 9k too.

will using an AP1 camshaft keep you in BSP/STU2 ... or will it bump you up to SM?

i read thru the 08 book today, in stu2 allows less than bsp so ck the rules, i think in the class no motor or ecu changes, that is more bsp or sm
its like the gap between stock and bsp , on street tires, 275 widest allowed on s2000
i hope the guys running at the states have read the rules clear on whats allowed
in stu2 class at the state race i am running my stock s 2000 in the class no real mods just sticky street tires and a big swaybar on front.
guys have to understand its not bsp on street tires. bsp allows a lot more mods!
i am no scca expert, but i would ck the rules your self if this class applys to you.
oh most of all, have fun doing it

As long as the parts are OEM, like the OEM ECU and an OEM cam, I'm well within the limits. But the rules are somewhat vauge right now, as we are adopting STU rules for STU2.

I believe that IHE, Sway bars, wheels and coil overs should be allowed. Like STU, OEM ECUs are allowed, as are piggyback systems. Stand alone systems are not.

Maybe we should make another thread?

I think I can help you out. I had my 1st engine rebuild in miami.....never do that!!! They had the car for 5 months. It sucked, but long story short I have a whole F20C1 dissasembled.

The cams were turning fine but they overtorqued the cam holders and broke one of them which put small scratches on the journal. You can see them but not really feel them. IDK if this is gonna make a huge impact or not but either way let me know!

the rules say no engine mods. thats what bsp is for
if you want a mod engine car go for it .
but it will not be in stu2 class
stu2 i a class between stock and bsp
we need to get a clear rules for this class from scca.
its not listed in the 2008 rules only stu rules! we need stu2 rules!
