I'm heading up on Tuesday, so see ya'll when you get there.

I might be game for any caravans heading back on Sunday, though.

Guys thinking about going? I will need to drive up Friday night after work. I'll need a place to stay, give me some ideas. How long is the trip up there? Get back to me. Martin

We leave from Hwy 50 & I-75 and stay over in Clayton Georgia, then drive in the next day. The total trip is 600 miles to Fontana Village. If this is your first time I would suggest staying at Fontana, this is the headquarters for all the events and makes it easy to mix with other s owners. Most of our crew is staying there.

The registration is closed which just means you cannot attend the dinner Saturday evening. (unless they allow you to register when you arrive). You can still join in all the other activities, i would say 50% of the people who attend do not register.

If we can answer any other questions let me know here or with a PM, hopefully we can meet up while we are Fontana and you can meet our crew.

Good Luck & be safe!

See the first post in this thread:

Some quick facts...
April 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th (Thursday - Sunday), 2008
HQ at Fontana Resort
Full registration and details before New Year 2008

You can begin to make your accommodation reservations directly with Fontana Village Resort for Wake the Dragon 2008. The event dates are Thursday, April 17 (arrival date) - Sunday, April 20, 2008 (departure date).

You will need to call their 800 number (800.849.2258 ) and request the "Wake the Dragon 2008" rates. The rates we've been given (listed below) are substantially less than their regular peak season rates.

Fontana Village has a wide variety of lodging options. Visit their website (Fontana Village Website) for detailed descriptions and photos of the various lodging choices.

We are currently working to get registration and a general itinerary up as soon as possible, but that will take some more time; targeting January 2008.

This looks to be our largest WTD ever, so get your reservations early!
