Also, quite curious....how much money in gas do you guys normally spend to just drive up there? how many tanks? Need to get an idea of how much this whole thing is going to cost so i can save some money. 
Maybe someone else kept actual records on mileage and fuel consumption and could give you a better idea.

April 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th (Thursday - Sunday), 2008
One of the best parts of WTD/DBR is the Thursday Night Hooters meet in Alcoa, TN (which, most likely will be moved to Wednesday April 16 this year).
I plan on leaving either Tuesday afternoon (or early Wednesday AM) and spending the night in Alcoa & then driving over to the Dragon Thursday AM.
With over 300 cars (and 300+ people) expected at WTD, Fontana Village will most likely be sold out fairly quickly. A good back-up place to stay is Nantahala Village (website).

I just looked at my gas card for the dragon trip and in all from Tampa to the Dragon and back including driving around Tenn/N.Cal from Thus-Mon. I spend $210 in Gas. In all for a fun weekend w/ the X girl I send $675 not a bad Vac.

Ok so ill just make it safe and figure in $250 for gas roundtrip, my passenger agreed to pay half so thats sweet! Now i gotta figure in room prices, food, and liquor
