Default Whats a good differential shop...

im looking for a good shop that can disassemble, inspect, and reassemble a modified rear differential... prefer some with Honda S2000 or Mazda differential experience, but im open to all good shops...

i already know about tunerwerks and will check them out... looking for other suggestions...

I woukld suggest maybe a transmission place that specializes in Jap imports.

I know a diff is not a tranny but those shops are the closest to the problem/issue/ in terms of mechanic specialty

Jeff can answer this better than me but, I do not think it needs to be taken apart to be cryoed. Are there rings or gaskets to worrry about? If it is all metal then I am under the impression that it is good to go.

Jeff? can you chime in on this??

You have to disassemble the diff so it can be cryo-treated. Different metals freeze at different rates.

As for the Comptech housing, You can order one from Ricks and when it comes in you would send them your core back as part of the deal. They charge a core fee.

If you are running an N/A car you can just cryo the housing you have and replace the bolts that hold the caps in place with cryoed grade 8 bolts. This should hold up to any abuse you can give it.

Jcarlton is the man to talk to about the prosses and having it done.
