Viewing last 2 Indy races may be in jeopardy
Versus on DIRECTV:
You may have seen a message on your TV screen saying that you may no longer receive the Versus channel after August 31, 2009. DIRECTV is in contract negotiations with Versus and are making every effort to keep the channel on the air without interruption.
If negotiations are not met I will need to find a new provider.

Seen the message and yep we have DirecTV. Only reason we've had them for so many years is the NFL Package. With the Jags, Skins, and Bucs apparently going to suck so bad (again) we decided to cancel this season for the first time in like 7 years. Not to mention the cost has gone up more than 35% since we started plus you add in the Super Fan portion to get HD nowadays and you're bumping up on another $350-$400. Might have to check into Comcast.
Hope Will Power is okay after yesterday's wreck,

In 1995 I signed up with Directv because of the NFL package. It was $179, with the early bird special priced at $149 a season. I have had Directv ever since, but dumped the NFL package a couple of years ago.
Take away my Indy and that will be the last straw!!

Well Directv, you did it. You have officially dropped the Versus channel from your line-up. As a 14 year subscriber, I have no choice to drop you. It has been a good 14 years. I put up with the frequent, "searching for signal" notices in the mid to late '90's during a moderate sun shower. But, you have gone and pi**ed me off and dropped my channel.
For the $95 a month I sent you, Comcast will give me the same package, add a HD DVR for a non-introductory rate of $49 a month.
Time will tell how the Comcast service will be, but maybe everything happens for a reason.

Verizon's FIOS would be an option, however it is not available in Orlando. As an AT&T Digital Technician, I would opt for UVERSE, however it is not in my area yet. I've heard a lot of horror stories about the Comcast that is offered in my subdivision so, I guess I'll give them a try.
