I've been to Sunset Place and seen on a few occassions VW's with S2000 antennas on them, probably stolen. I don't advocate theft, but I wanted to "take them" back, although I didn't actually do anything.

A few weeks after I got my car last year someone attempted to steal my antenna, I came out to find my antennas' rubber outer piece ripped off exposing some metal wiring. This is what would happen if you use locktite, which I had not. I guess because my car was new the antenna was on there pretty tight. I now just unscrew the antenna and put it in the trunk if I am at all unsure about the area.
