St. Pete Questions
Hey all,
I'm looking for some advice on spectating at the upcoming ALMS at St. Pete. I'm planning on going on Saturday only, mostly to see Gerardo Bonilla in the ALMS series. I was wondering if good places can be found to watch the race if I just get the General Admission tickets. There's a vast difference between the GA and grandstand tickets in price, and most of the grandstands don't even look all that interesting (i.e., lined up on the front straight). Also, does anybody know if the Saturday GA ticket gives you paddock access to the ALMS paddocks?
Thanks,
T.

We'll have an RV spot going as part of our involvement with the event so look us up. You'll find many a sticky on the Grand Prix. We should be along the main straightaway.
GA tickets will let you roam and that's all many prefer. There are some that have specific spots they want to sit so grandstands do have their advantages too. This will be my 4th year and only the 2nd for the ALMS at this GP if I have my facts straight. Their paddocks were really just in the yellow parking lot area by the airport which is where our Parade Lappers will be parked plus it's also the RV Village. Point is, we'll be there and unless something has changed for this year a GA pass should get you to them. IRL, etc.? Need a specific paddock pass for sure.
Hope to see you there,
Shay

Honda Pavilion! You can watch from the grassy area (near the main paddock) or go into the pavilion and watch from above the track on the patio. You can see down Bayshore (a decent length straight away and turn 10.) http://www.gpstpete.com/assets/fanguide-2008-draft.pdf .

Just get general admission. There is pretty good views from turns 3 to 9. I sat in the grandstands for a short period but had much more fun watching from Pioneer Park. I can't wait......this will be my 2nd year going and I was really amazed with the downtown street course set up.
