how much to run? I have never done an autocross or anything of that nature. But like the OP I want to learn more about my car and I hear that is the most efficient safe way to do so.

It's $30 with lunch included, usually good food. There is no deadline for registration, but I would get there around 8-8:30AM and they will put you on a list for walk-on registration. The earlier the better.

when is the next event? I know there's one in a couple of months I was thinking of attending. I have to change my tranny/rear diff fluid before I think of doing one of these.

I don't know about the next event for F.A.S.T., but the next autocross after this weekend is on the 18th and the 19th down in Palm Bay with the SCCA... and they have a class specifically for street-tire S2000's
