Since the guy you hit was illegal, you should have blackmailed him into fixing your bumper! Even though it wasn't his fault. Say you got his license plate and you are calling the cops.

he actually called and we met him by our hosue and i had a cop come. hed changed his plates from texas to florida and i had the cop run his fl plates and they were illegal. like they werent registered to his car so the cop was just like: i ave him a no registration ticket, you guys settle this how you want.

damn people.

i have the VIN to his car. my parents say i should call the dmv (like you can jsut up and call them..) and have them look it up and see if he even owns the car...

work work work.

You guys are obviously tough as nails, but by turning this guy in again when a cop let him slide the first time might not be the best idea. Since the precedent has been set that he will not be persecuted for running bad plates, my guess would be that the DMV won't push the issue.

All you are going to do is piss the guy off, and having an idiot out for revenge isn't worth the trouble IMO. Especially if he's got your plates and info. This guy is not on the up and up, and this battle is best avoided IMO. Part ways as quickly and cheaply as possible. Write him a check for $100, have him sign a homemade contract stating that it is all is cool between you two, and walk quietly away.

Hopefully, you will never hear from him again. Which is a good thing. The homemade contract will hold up in small claims court, if it comes to that. But If I were you, I wouldn't stir the pot. Let it go and move on.
