DISCLAIMER: I am not by any means an "audio guy". I love music, but I don't sit for hours tuning my stereo to get the most crisp, beautiful sound ever known to man. I'm happy with it being loud enough to hear on the highway with the top down.

I bought some CDT Audio component speakers with the intention of putting them in the doors without ever considering that they were WAY too deep to fit. So rather than take a hit and waste money by selling brand new speakers, I mounted them in the rear, behind the seats. Yes, this setup causes much of the sound to be deadened by the seat. But the overall sound fills the car out nicely.I can easily hear it with the top down driving in the 80mph range, and the bass from them hits the back of the seats just slightly enough to be noticed. Overall, I dig it.

So, like I said, I'm a fan of this setup, however, don't take my opinion as you would someone who really knows this stuff, because I'm simply not an expert on the subject. If you live in the Orlando/Cocoa Beach area, you would be more than welcome to have a seat in the car and listen sometime. One thing I have learned is that the best way to find out what works for you is to listen for yourself.
