Of everyone who has posted about putting on a Fumotot valve (myself included), no one has posted about it being ripped off by a foreign object (unless we're talking about Hans Schlegal at the local fix-it shop getting cranky with his wrench). I've had mine on for well over four years without a single issue, and I love being able to change the oil without jacking the car up (especially now that it's lowered).

like i said ... this caution is just for anyone who is 'cursed' like me (i'm not naming any names . Just ask anyone about this past year and my road to the St. Pete Gran Prix.

omg ... what do you use to catch the oil if your car is lowered???? And can you reach the valve relief from the top or the bottom?

Normal oil pan from AutoZone... it's easier to get under the car if I jack it up an inch to slide it under, but once there I can let the car back down. I have the AEM intake, so the stock airbox is gone. Allows me to reach right through the engine bay and flick the valve. If you're ultra-worried, get a cross brace that covers the area.

Also, if you plan on racing, now might be a good time to weld in some baffles while yu have it off of the car. A local welder should be able to handle it for a few bucks.

BACK from the mofo'd dead...

Installed the Fumoto valve with teflon tape today. I have a hairline crack directly underneath the drain bolt causing a slight bead of oil to appear. Does not drip whatsoever and i'm not too too worried about it.

Does anyone know if its possible to get someone to spot weld it? I dunno about welding aluminum pans but I figure its worth a shot. My only other option if i'm gonna keep that pan is JB weld but JB weld and oil don't mix too well i suppose.

IMO that crack is pretty much unfixable and likely to get bigger, you need a new pan I'm sorry to say.
