S2000 Day at The FIRM
Hey guys,
I've wanted to setup an S2000 track day for a while now. We did a private S2Ki track day back in 2012 at GRRC and it was a blast.
I've contacted the FIRM to get pricing and it's not so bad.
The three options are as follows:
1.) $3800 to rent the track on a weekday
2.) $4300 to rent the track on a weekend
3.) If we get 10+ people, we don't get the private track but we reduce our cost to $150 a person instead of $200.
I go here pretty often and usually there are 5-6 people. I get a ton of seat time - by lunchtime I need a refill of gas. I've never stopped because I ran out of time, mostly running out of energy.
It would be awesome to get a big group to be able to meet everyone. We can even do prizes for the fastest lap in each class! This would be a great event for beginners as well to be able to get pointers and ride a longs with more accomplished S2000 drivers.
I think the best way to do this is to do it on a Friday. Get commitment of at least 13 people before putting money down, so each person's cost would be $300. Then as more people sign up we refund the differences. Heavily encourage S2000 only but we should allow members with other cars to keep cost down.
Since we are in the planning stages, let's shoot for a weekend that is spaced apart from NASA events.
Thoughts??

I also just got an email about $150 friday evets now. Might as well just organize it so you get a bunch of people to take a Friday off and meet up for this. Less hassle and probably no one really there anyways lol

They usually get 5-6 people out there, so $1200 worth. Not sure why they charge so much to make it your own day.
Doesn't really affect anything if there are a few random cars there.
Anyone have a preference for a date? I'm planning on doing Sebring Jun 23-24. May 11th?

We have been having a blast! Our next stop is most definitely The Firm. We have one more TakeOver here in NY 9/17 and then I will start some work on that. I know it’s a little far away but better late than never. You guys could always drive up for the September event...
