Thumbs down Rear left rumbling HARD under acceleration...

Alright, based on resaarch over in UTH, I've decided my rear CV joints have gone bad...

When I accelerate more than "gently" over about 25 MPH, the rear right of my car begins to shake pretty violently... As soon as I get off the throttle, perfect.

This occurs up to about 80 MPH, when it goes away.

It appears as though some members have had luck (AND SAVED ALOT OF MONEY) by switching the rear CV joints from right to left and vice versa...

Anyone else had this problem?

Thanks,
Matt

Thanks guys, anyone done this before?

Do I need to completely remove the axles to get enough access to do this effectively? Anyone done this yet? Is this something I can accomplish with patience, and pretty good wrenching skills?

I guess I'm gonna go out and try to find the correct grease and a strap tool so I can get this done this weekend... Maybe I'll do my own step-by-step DIY photo thread, seeing as this is something it looks like a lot of us will go through at some point, especially if you're lowered...

Here's the DIY I've found:
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=241367

In that thread:
For reference, the original and still definitive thread on the CV joint issue is here:

This thread is a classic example of the S2Ki community coming together to solve an issue and finding a good fix even before Honda does. Eventually, Honda did release TSB 02-063 for this fix; it can be found here on S2Ki:

I usually put the ball joint back together with an impact wrench. Otherwise, the castle nut will just spin and never get tight enough to torque. An electric impact wrench from Harbor Freight is a wonderful tool
