Default Painted brake calipers yesterday (pictures)

Figured I'd give it a try before braking down and paying for the powder coating. Total cost, $3.99 + Tax for a can of 900 degree high-heat paint. 4hrs of hard labor The only problem is with the brakes on the car, you can't properly cure the paint (650 degrees for 1 hr). I did drive and do some heavy braking for an hour... We'll see how durable it is, but it was worth a shot. Thanks to KeithD for the idea. I knew there was a good reason for inviting him to Jupiter.

Pix (not sure how big these are)...

Actually, after seeing them on-line, the color is faded by the shadow. They look much brighter red in person. Oh well, maybe I need photography 101.

I got mine coated because they were chipping, but I only used the 550 degree paint. Maybe the 900 would have worked better.

I used 900 degree paint a little over a month ago and they still look new. I was afraid of getting overspray all over, so I sprayed the paint into another can and hand-painted a few coats onto the calipers.
Maybe someday I'll poweder coat, but this works for now.

I was paranoid of this. 2hrs of the 4 I put into this was masking off the sides, and all the suspension stuff. I put 2 light coats, then one heavy, then one last light coat. Looks great so far.

Very Sharp with the red interior! Nice effort.
