Paint/Body shop messed up. I have a new front spoiler!
Many of you know that my car was involved in a hit and run accident before Christmas. The minor damage was fixed and I picked up my car at the beginning of January. I noticed that the body shop didn't replace my chin spoiler on the front (the small black plastic moulding piece under the front bumper). They ordered me a new one and it wasn't until late January when the part came in. Then they said they had to "prep" it. I was a little annoyed that it was taking so long. When I made my appointment to have it put on (yesterday), they wanted my car for the whole day. I didn't understand why, after all, its only a few screws to put on. I conviced them that I would wait for it. Two hours later, I'm fuming mad. Where is my car?!! When it came, I just took the keys and left. When I got to work, I looked to see. To my utter amazement and surprise, before my eyes was a beautiful, painted, front spoiler! Clearly, they ordered and installed the wrong part. Now, of course, I'm feeling guilty for being so mad. But I have a new front spoiler to ease the pain .

Congratulations on the new spoiler Deb, but I'm confused. I don't have any small, black chin spoiler on my car. There is a plastic undertray, but no "chin spoiler" under the front of the bumper. Maybe you had one because Wei-Shen (Chin ) owned the car before you did?
I saw the coastal metals under-bumper chin protector on quaesta's car and really liked it. Let me know if there is an OEM alternative!

CoralDoc: The paint/body shop said it was a dealer option, but did not come from the factory. The proper name for the part might not be "chin spoiler". I explained in detail what the part looked like. They seemed to know what I was talking about.

Deb, I'm pretty sure there was never a black spoiler under the front bumper. The NSX has one but the S2K doesn't, at least on the stock version. Wish I had that kind of luck....a new spoiler for cheap!!
I actually am going to BUY the exact spoiler you have now...the so called "Chin" spoiler...I like the sound of that name.....and paint it. Gives the front a slightly more agressive look.
See ya tomorrow. Bring raingear!

wchin: It definitely had a black plastic piece at the bottom of the front bumper. It had a nice scuff mark on the driver's side (soon after Vince drove it one day )
Sorry, no digital camera for pictures. Maybe I'll have wchin take some pictures on the March 10th run in Orlando.
