Default NSX Successor *Canceled*

Today is a very sad day... Honda announced this morning, along with other news, that "The development of the NSX successor model equipped with V10 engine will be cancelled."

They are also canceling the planned introduction of Acura to Asia in 2010, which was to be simultaneous with the release of the new NSX.

What is Honda thinking!?
They want to be "safe" during these rapidly deteriorating economic times, yet they don't cancel non-core brand things like Asimo, Honda Jet, or those strange mechanical leg walker things!

they are probably more realistic than any of us ...

Now is a good time to find a nice NSX cheap though ... should only go up further in value now that the successor is postponed/canceled

I guess no S3000 either.

The call to move to Nissan or BMW only gets louder.

Hey this reminds me of when Honda said they were pulling out of F1! How many topics did that spawn? LOL!

Wow. I totally forgot about my sig. I shall sadly take it down now. Its not like most of us couldve afforded an 150k Honda. It was the point of having something outrageous to stick on the wall. Something to brag about. Ehh..whatever.

they're responding to the economy the same way Toyota has, by cancelling the LF-A.

IMO, it's smart on Honda's part. They're not as large as Nissan or Toyota, and spending money on a low-production supercar is not an intelligent priority right now.

Maybe update the S2000 which sells for a much more reasonable figure and therefore would be profitable, vs. spending a LOT on development of the NSX successor and probably not turning a profit from it.
