I am getting one but am very nervous about AT&T. If you look at their coverage maps, in terms of data, AT&T is about where Spring and Verizon were a couple years ago......maybe. I can always tell when I get a call (quality-wise) who has AT&T!
I tried AT&T two years ago and it didn't work well several places I tried it. I really want the phone but I get coverage everywhere in North American I have been with Alltel/Verizon.

I got mine.................... .......and now I have a 3G that I am not using for anything other than a glorified Ipod touch...........unless someone is interested.
I switched from Verizon to AT&T when the Iphone came out and I travel a lot all over the country and so far no problems in fact I have better coverage in some places (NYC, Boston).
btw, the video is awesome!

Not 3G fast? Sprint's EVDO network is a 3G network... I use my HTC Touch Diamond on the Sprint EVDO Network and it's just as fast, if not faster than AT&T's 3G network. Did a side by side comparison with an iPhone 3G and my Touch Diamond for web browsing and tethering. Speeds on EVDO were quicker for both applications.
I'm in the same boat as you though, I pay around $70 a month for unlimited everything, and I'm not about to pay $120+ for something that isn't even as good. I still have no cap on my data tethering with Sprint, and if I switch to AT&T and tether, it's like a 5gb cap. The iPhone 3GS is real slick I must say. Just played with one and I like it. Hope everyone enjoys theirs!

However ... i may have an issue with my phone because it is not rendering the web-page as fast as most '3G' devices that i've seen.
I'm still waiting to see how many MP3car enthusiasts switch out their CarPC's for the Apple iPhone/iPod Touch platforms

Im still on the fence on getting this. Ive had the Iphone since day 1 and only love it since the day I unlocked it. I was all excited to finally finish my contract with ATT but now this may suck my ass back in. My friends said though if i unlock it and go to tmobile, I wont get 3g. Is this True Josh?
