the new Iphone

I think that unless the video camera and the compass are THAT important to you, or you just NEED that 32 gigs of space for more toooooonZ, then the cheaper $99 3G, or just hang onto your current 3G, and load 3.0 on it will be more than fine.
Personally though, i already bought 2 3G phones within the last month, and because of that, i can upgrade without spending any more $$ other than a small restocking fee... so i'm going to go ahead and upgrade to get the video camera. Heather is likely going to stay with the 3G though, but she may upgrade. But if she doesn't upgrade, then the store will be refunding me the difference between what i paid for her phone, and what the 3G will now be selling for... small restocking fee applies as well iirc... but worth it to get the $$ back.
Having the iPhone for the last month has been AWESOME... i really can say that i don't know how i would ever go back to a normal phone and not feel like something is missing. The apps, the convenience, the web browsing anywhere... stock trading anywhere (important to me), etc... this thing is great! I've never been a big fan of diving head first into technology... the old phone i had was just a piece of crap plastic phone from like 5 years ago... i was happy with it. It always worked, and did the basic phone thing... but with hindsight, i'm wishing that i had made the move to the iphone MUCH sooner than i did.

My hubby just picked his up and he's loving it thus far!! He is an avid Blackberry fan due to the fact that he works and lives off it but he is an iphone developer and ended up having to trade his trusted Blackberry in. He got the 3G only for Apple to announce the newer version days later (and after Apple themselves lied to him stating they were NOT releasing a new phone) but returned it and got the 3 GS.
He was able to activate it at home and he's already getting his emails, something the previous iphones wouldn't do automatically. So far he's finding it comparable to his Blackberry as well as enjoying the media/entertainment advantages. I will most likely be getting one this weekend myself.

My iphone is currently the longest owned phone I have had and I have overall been very happy with it. There are some things with it I have been unhappy with such as the fact that my email has NEVER worked properly and the phone's camera pales in comparison to other's that I have had. However, both factors have been addressed with the latest rendition. I intend to just update to the 3G with it's faster network, email that WILL work, and bigger storage capacity but I may just pay the extra $100. for the latest installment depending how much I like the new changes on the hubby's.
Overall: I find the iphone to be a great media device with phone abilities and is therefore a great all in one device.

I'm still the hold-out. I am still turned-off by the monthly service costs.
I am paying about $70 a month for unlimited data/text/ect (Sprint). I think the last time i checked the iPhone unlimited plan was well over $120 (caparable plan to mine). Granted i'm not '3G' fast ... but, i'm not in that much of a hurry when it comes to web-browsing on the go. And my email is IMMEDIATELY downloaded.
I just switched to a LG Lotus and am still amazed at the features. But, i do wish for an iPod Touch for the portable wifi browsing though ...
i'm sure once i get an iPod Touch i'll have wished i had gotten the iPhone

big fan of apple but AT&T service is weak at my house. i am on verizon and the is rumor of the iphone coming to VZ but who knows when.
i currently have the Blackberry Storm and i am eagerly waiting on the BB Tour which is VZ answer to the BB Bold.
if the iphone makes it to VZ i'm pretty sure i would buy it.

I use to be a Verizon customer before I married and we reconciled our cell accounts together. I was very happy with Verizon's products and coverage. In fact, I found that I was the only person with cell coverage during the year of hurricanes through Charlie.
I very much like the LG phones. If it weren't for the iphone, I would be with Verizon and LG.

I got mine at 7am this morning. I came from a HTC and I must say I am impressed with this phone. Runs a lot smoother and more friendlier then Windows Mobile. I must give it to Apple but geesh give us a bone and please lower the Macbooks!

I am getting one but am very nervous about AT&T. If you look at their coverage maps, in terms of data, AT&T is about where Spring and Verizon were a couple years ago......maybe. I can always tell when I get a call (quality-wise) who has AT&T!
