Need Some Advice
I've been trying to get hold hold of a 2003 Black S2000 for the past month and have hit some bumps in the road but I think I'm getting somewhere. I first tried to lease the car because I rarely keep a car more than two years at a time so I thought I would try a 3 year lease for a change. Come to find out that my credit isn't good enough for a lease but the salesman said that I would have no problem finacing the car. Well today I had him put the paper work thourgh for the finance and I get approved. The numbers are $31,000 for the car $5,700 down 11.5% for 72 months at $400 a month with the option after 1-2 years to refinance for a lower rate. My question is, is do you think this a good deal or is there more room to manuver. The monthly payment isn't a problem could go to $475 a month or more, the price of the car for Florida I think is a good price unless you think I get the dealer to go for the up north pricing, grant it is the summer but LOU is still offering this car for $29,999 just trying to get it in state. Any help, constructive critism or suggessions is appreciated. Thanks.

I don't know much about financing/leasing cars. I leased mine through a credit union at the time and no dealer could touch it. The rate was low, no down payment, etc. I was planning to buy but the payments were a lot lower with a lease. The residual at the end was reasonable at my calculation and based on me saving $200/month vs. buying it worked out better for me. I'm glad I leased in hind site because my wife turned out prego 29 days after delivery and then we decided to have her be a stay at home mommy. I'm basically in sales/planning so I'm all commission and fees. Having the only real W2 income dissappear after just getting this beauty, plus knowing another mouth to feed was on the way was scary as crap. Not that I didn't think about getting rid of the car numerous times especially after we got prego with our 2nd. Luckily my wife knows how much I love this car and has always been extremely supportive in keeping it. Heck, she was a HUGE help in organizing our recent FCS2k Anniversary Meet (pics in this Forum). Anyway, I'd check into a couple credit unions as a point of reference. You'll love the car and it'd be nice to see another dark side on the road.
