I have never used a spring compressor when doing the s2000 springs. And I have put on about 20 sets. They don't have much Pre tension. And every set of lowering springs I have put on have never needed to be compressed to get the nut started.

So, the people that didnt use a spring compressor.. You think a person that has never swapped springs will be able to SAFELY remove the oem springs and put on the Eibach? As in without using straps, a large friend, etc.

Ugh ... sorry I've been so absent with work I didn't even see this thread.
Wil, I'd love to help you out with them. Is there any chance you can wait a few days to put them on? If so I can probably get access to a shop. Maybe as soon as this coming Sunday (or even Saturday night?)
I won't know my exact schedule for another 24hrs.
I agree with Speedy though ... I've taken off about 4 sets of springs from S2000's and haven't 'needed' a spring compressor. It is a judgement call as far as safety and what you do to offset the risks. I have wrapped a towel or sheet around a coil-over and then used an impact gun to loosen the nut. Any shock from the release of the spring is captured by the towel/sheet. I've done that about a dozen times on even Civic and Integra springs too and never had a top hat escape the fabric. Putting the top-hat back on is usually much easier as it is a shorter spring anyway.
hope that helps

Scott... Possibly. I just need them done by Monday so I can get an alignment. I have a good window to do them Saturday afternoon, so if they aren't difficult I may just want to do them and be done with it.
Xeno... They will all but for sure get done this weekend. I'm always glad to have a helping hand if you want to join. Only problem is that I'm not 100% sure when/where I will do them.
