I just went to the dealership today on the way back from work. The Mugen Civic does look bad ass up close. They wont have the S2K Type S and/or the CR until next month. Still I dont get why they can have a Mugen civic but not a Mugen S2000.

i agree with honda marketing on this one. they picked the correct car to "Mugen'ize". these will fly off the shelf at a healthy profit, the s2k would end up being sold below invoice.... think about it, some dealers won't even stock s2k's (think nationwide, not just FL)

Its not dealer done it is listed on the Marone "window sticker" and comes this way off the truck . All but the lip spoiler like Twanksta said . This is so it is not damaged coming off the truck . I did not notice a Mugen logo by the shifter .

I see people getting pissed off having to replace the body kit because of thieves . Surprised to see the Bridgestones though . The SI regular and HPT tires are all Michelin Pilots .

I was really surprised to see 4 DOORS?

I was getting excited about this car, until that.

I heard that the explanation from the Honda engineers about the 4-door civic getting the "type-r" and "mugen" treatment is because apparently they are better around the track due to the improved F/R weight balance compared to the coupe.

YEP! 4-Dr FTW! they made a 4-door integra type r which was FASTER than the coupe version around the track. That goes along with the new civic type r, they ONLY come in 4-dr in japan. Better balance like brownsound mentioned...

I personally love the 4-door and not so much the coupe. thumbs up to honda!

im confused... if the s2k is lighter (20kg) and has more power (17ps~hp).... why is it slower in the straights? is it the drag from the top being down?

also i wonder if in the turns it would have been different if tsuchiya had driven both cars and then just compared lap times, the guy driving the s2k was obviously not a comparable driver to him.

... wheres the stig (cuddles) when u need him?

... actually my car is better at autocross in the coupe cuz the 2" shorter wheel base the first gen coupes have (2nd and 3rd gen are all the same as my car)
