No Water on the course itself. They swept and blew it dry before the first run.
To be quick on this course you had to be very precise and not over drive your car. After leaving the start line was a sweeper to the left which entered a very tight turn around box. I stayed in first until I had a clear exit window and then it was flat on the floor and down a slight grade with quick shift to second. Next was a sweeping right turn with lots of room to loose time followed by a decreasing radius turn to the right. Here was a prime spot to loose lots of time by coming in to hot. Again for us torqueless s2k guys it was back to first This is where things got tricky for the s2k. To choose to stay in first or quick shift to second and then back to first, because next came a hard left with a cone place perfectly to be hit. I know because I crushed it. lol Then it was a dash the length of the course. At the end of the straight was a course worker with a radar gun recording top speeds. The highest that I heard was a vette at 69 mph. So, at the end of this straight you really got on the brakes, because there was a left with a cone place perfectly on the outside of the turn to knocked over if you were carrying to much speed. Yep, I got that on too. Then another left through a box with a cone in the middle that was optional as to which side you wanted it on. Through the finish and hard on the brakes.
As I posted before this club does an excellent job. They especially take time to make sure that novices do not get lost and have a good time. They encourage all non-novices to take a novice along on their first run.
FTD I think was somewhere around 35 sec. The really well driven fast cars were in the 35 to 39 range. Most of us were in the low to mid 40's. But everone had a good time and enjoyed this challenging course.
Good job Martin Sport Car Club
