yeah, but lets not forget that mythbusters tested it with two f150s..wich are about as aerodynamic as a brick. That breakeven point wont necessarily be the same on an S

The DOT (or was it FTSA?) ran a number of tests with multiple cars over varying conditions... I don't have the exact values locked away in my mind, but it showed a significant savings at highway speed by rolling up your windows and using the A/C. I'll post the links if I can find them again...

Regardless of vehicle, you kill the aerodynamics even more by opening the windows, so even if it started as a brick at least it will be a more aerodynamic brick.

on the highway I get 27-29 usually, 30.x was the highest ever, my normal mpg average (city and highway mixed) is ~23-24mpg..

I installed a speedometer calibrator immediately after getting the gears, didn't want to run up any "extra" miles on the car!

The S2000 with it's semi upright windshield has horrible aerodynamics compared to most sports cars.

I remember seeing mythbusters also and the windows down got considerably better gas mileage than AC on. They also tested the tailgate down myth. Tailgate up gets better mileage.

Swapping gears has been proven to worsen gas mileage a bit around town. Your highway mileage should be even worse because of the higher cruising revs in top gear burning more gas. I think your recent gas mileage improvement is soley based on your conservative acceleration.

I definately think my "taking it easy" was the reason for the increase in gas mileage. I have little doubt that I will lose a little mpg from the gear install once I'm comfortable getting on it again.

As for....
