Ben it sounds like your powdercoater did not sandblast or soak the cover

tsk tsk tsk shame on him

I trust the guys that todd and rick got I have seen thier work on wheels and other parts and it is good
Sand blasting was the first problem, there is sand inside the cover along with the oil that was in there as well as a healthy coat of powder coating. If Honda intended for the inside of the cover to look like the outside they would have did it them selves. My belief is that you never sand blast an engine part that comes in contact with your engines oil. The valve cover has a baffle in it and once sand gets in under that it becomes near imposable to get out especially when it is mixed with other things and backed at 400*. I can not and will not put this cover back on my car, I can

Sorry to get off topic but how much would one typically expect to pay to have a valve cover powdercoated, say... spa yellow?
I think todd has a cover done in a color matched well to spa and/or rio in the shop right now

Call 2nrwerks at 813-901-vtec (8832)

Closest to Spa Yellow from Columbia Coatings would be, from my experience...

3 parts Ag Yellow
1.5 parts Super Mirror Yellow
.5 part Silver metal flake

Should look pretty close. I'll let you know how mine turns out. I've got the powder mixed, but I had a slight malfunction (hose burst on my sand blasting cabinet).
