One of the biggest hp robbers on our car is heat soak...ie the intake system becomes very hot and tranfers that heat to the air charge. This gasket is a high temp plasitc that replaces a metal gasket between the intake manifold and the cyl head. Being plastic it insulates the manifold from the cyl head heat and keeps it cooler.
Cooler air = more hp
Grab your chemestry book to learn why: look up ideal gas law. PV=nRT Colder air is more dense, ie it holds more O2 molecules for the same volume --> bigger bang in the combustion chamber.
The gasket + mugen thermostat + mugen fan switch (best to do them all at the same time since the thermostat is under the intake manifold which has to come off) can be bought from King Motorsports.

Well...Hondata says it is worth a couple of ponies. Personally, I think it probably only helps you keep the hp you have by reducing the effects of heat soak.
I can tell you that after a hard run (occasional triple digit speed) with WillieGee, we compared intake temps...he has the gasket and you could lay your hand on his manifold (it was hot, but not hot enough to immediately burn you); my car does not have the gasket and my intake was so hot I jerked my hand away like I'd touched a stove top.
The gasket runs about $50, the mugen thermostat is about $80 and the mugen fan switch about $50.

Getting a late start to bed...will leave as quick as possible in the morn, and shoot to get there between 8-8:30. 1.5 hr drive though.
