High Volume S2000 Oil Pump
#11
There is only one type of aftermarket pump out there that I know of. It is modified from a stock pump and the manufacturer says it flows 30% more.
I have one and Puddydaddy has one they are $279 but I don't think that aill help your clicking. There is an aftermarket manual tensioner that works great but they are hard to get quites the engine way down.
How did you install the oil jets? I know you know the car comes with some. Did you install four hole jets?
The problem probably is the tensioner after reinstallation with the head job.
Try a new one or try a one from a friend.
Either that or stop by the shop and we will find out the problem and fix it.

yes, i had the "new" 4 hole jets installed to the specs in the helms manual.
thanks guys for your help. i dont think that the oiling is the issue either.. just that i tried installing 3 different chain tensioners.. the ticking gets softer and louder with the different chain tensioners but never goes away =(
I wish I was in flordia so i could take it to you guys.. but i live a long ways away. One of my friends just directed me to this forum because flordia is the state with the most experience with turbo s2k's!.. you guys and inline.

Hi Ryan, my oil pressure from the stock pump after stroking the motor is 90-110psi with foot on the gas, idle is between 30-35psi. You surely don't need more than that, I would go with what the guys are saying on this one. The stock pump is sufficient for whatever you could throw at it.

For what it's worth, I'm running the high-flow oil pump in my turbo setup and haven't had any oil-pressure related problems. Whether it's an improvement over stock I can't say, as I got the pump in conjunction w/ my turbo build.

Did you recently rebuild your motor?
At my work we had an s2000 come in with a blown motor and the mechanic replaced it with a used motor. However the motor we got had the timing way off. Once the timing was fixed it fired right up, but it sounded like it had a bad TCT. We changed that and it still sounded the same. Come to find out the gear I have circled was a hair off of where it should have been. We Aligned the gear correctly and you couldn't tell the motor was running. Maybe this will help.
