has anyone ever wraped stock headers?

I believe that the stock header is 409 SS and I doubt that it will hold up to being wrapped for very long, particularly in this humid climate. IMO, a much better and more cost effective option would be to spend $165 and send the header to JetHot to be coated inside and out. I had one done about eleven years ago (and every header I've owned since) and the person who owns it now tells me that it's still holding together.

I have seen the factory header warped before, someone on the national forum posted a pic of it. Dean is right, it would be best to Jet coat it
On an aftermarket header the wrap will serve two purposes...One it keeps the under hood temps down and two, it deadens the sound so it is not as loud
I have done both and like the wrap for keeping the noise down to a factory like sound
Jet coat on a Comptech
wrap on a Megan racing

The noise level is what concerns me about aftermarket headers, since my wife and I go on very long drives of a thousand miles or more. How much noise did you experience with your Megan before you wrapped it?
With the Comptech I did not do the wrap and it was very loud in the car.
