u and me both Scott...
However... That is not a "Fault" with the mount, it is a fault with the turbo location. The insert is polyurethane, and any other polyurethane mount would have the same problems being that close to an extreme heat source like that...
The OEM mount is actual rubber, and it deals with temps better, but i'd be willing to bet that it doesn't make it out of there without exteme damage due to the heat... it just may not show it the same way that a poly mount would.
A heatshield would be a simple thing to make as well with some reflective heat wrap material on one side of it.

FYI don't' use these with a bottom mounted turbo WITHOUT A HEAT SHIELD, IT WILL MELT - as mine did during the final tune. Although before I got the tune, the mounts make the whole car/motor ''feel" better and more responsive. Shifting was also A LOT better!
Edit: Have not tried it with a heat shield yet.

Well, you could always use a heat shield like you're supposed to whenever you install something really hot next to anything that can melt... its not the mounts fault.
Instead of saying DONT use them with a bottom mount turbo, say something like if you are planning on using these mounts, it would be a good idea to heat shield them.
But anyway... yea, they do help a LOT!

Just found the melted goo this morning and got a little disappointed at the whole visual.
