Excellent local dealer service- 1st-2nd gear grind TSB done under HondaCare Warranty
The 1st/2nd gear grind finally got worse. Had the oil changed last week and asked the local service advisor at Jon Hall Honda to check it out. She had their most experienced mechanic check it out. His diagnosis after checking the Honda computer database was to perform the TSB 055. The new car warranty ran out last November and I took the chance on buying the HondaCare warranty. Ask me if I'm happy about that after leaving the dealer without leaving any additional $$ for this transmission rebuild?? WooHoo no cost to me to get this fixed... I can't believe how much better the transmission shifts through all the gears. Haven't had any grind upshifting to 2nd yet!
If anyone needs service locally, I'd highly recommend talking to Theresa @ Jon Hall Honda.
So far they've been excellent to deal with for me.

Is it really that far off? We're definitely looking forward to going back there! Except next time I think that we'll plan to spend more than 3 days for this trip.

I plan on doing at least five days up there, late April will probably be the Wake the Dragon. Hopefully we get dry roads all day long this time. I'm also looking forward to those roads on the way up in N. Georgia.

I have to agree with you, Don. Theresa has been absolutely wonderful with me. Had a couple of minor problems with the hard top, an several other minor items, and fixed all with no problem. Also, have the shift grind myself and I'm scheduled to have it checked this next week. Again, Theresa at Jon Hall Honda number one and

Yes - 2001's included.
What a coincidence Don. I was just in Saturday to pick up a trim piece and spoke with Theresa about the grind, I'll be bringing mine in sometime next month for them to look at it for the TSB. Hopefully they won't make me take off the Comptech CAI like they did for the buzzing clutch TSB.

I need the clutch recall done, however my warranty is up, and I dont have the HondaCare warranty you speak of. Is it too late to buy this, then have the clutch work done under that warranty? Is it even possible?
