Endurance Karting event Jacksonville 3/31-4/1
I wanted to throw out a possible motorsports event that is coming up in Jacksonville- Endurance Karting. Picture a 24 hour endurance race scaled down to a kart sized 6 hours. Teams of 6 drivers compete in equally prepared 270cc karts. The race is held at the 103rd Street Sports Complex on the West Side...practice is Friday 3/31 and the 6 hour race is Saturday 4/1. This is an "arrive and drive" event where all you have to do is show up...the karts and all safety gear are provided. It sounds like a lot of fun...but it's a little expensive. A entry fee for a six person team is $1950 which works out to $325 per person. Also, based on some previous kart experience, I am anticipating that the two 30 minute stints required by each driver will end up being fairly physically demanding. But despite the cost and inevitable soreness thenext day, it will be wicked fun!
I am posting this just to raise the idea. Unfortunately this is the same weekend as the Honda GP down in St Pete and I know a lot of people are planning on going to that. I have to stay close to Jacksonville that weekend due to the nature of my job, so I for one am in for this karting thing. If there is interest in getting a team together, I'll dig into this and post in full detail!
You can check out the website for yourself if you want right here.

well for whoever does go do an early entry on turn 1 so it pushes you to the outside to set you up for turn two. oh and turn 1 is lots of fun.. id say about a 45 degree bank on a 90 degree turn.
oh also a little more info on turn 1 just jab the brake while your turning and get on it through the apex. it will push you right where you want to be
