Default Dyno Day Results

Let's post the results from the dyno day in this thread so that we can keep the information all in one place.

I went to Mustang Specialties this afternoon to be the first S2000 on their Dynojet! So, my results are now the benchmark for you all to beat!

Tim was very friendly, and I got to watch a built up Mustang throw down some impressive NA numbers - ~360 HP and 375 lb-ft of torque. I noticed that the car put down more torque at 2800 RPM than we do at maximum output.

It will be interesting to see how you wind up strapping your cars down. Brian, the technician that did the setup on my car, used my trailer hitch in the rear and A-arms in the front.

The best run was the 4th one, 201.5 HP and 135.3 lb-ft of torque. These are corrected values and were a little more than I expected, so I'm happy. My engine modifications are a Mugen exhaust and Comptech air filter - everything else is stock and my car has 33k miles on it. It was strange that uncorrected values were higher by 2-3 HP even though the ambient temperature was around 100 deg. F!

Have fun on Saturday! I offer a beer to the owner of the first (normally aspirated) car to beat my numbers .

It was no surprise to me, but I had the least HP at 187.4!

Oh well...

We had a total of 7 S2000's show up at our Dyno Day with some pretty interesting results. Not sure is anything can be determined by all of this, but here is goes....

Temp was about 96 degrees and the humidity was 95% ... I know they say the numbers are corrected, but with that much moisture in the air, it has to make a difference.

In order of Hp:

Plus, I lost 10 lbs and 10 IQ points standing in the heat sucking exhaust. Great time! Now... where'd I put that Turbo money...

Don't forget, the Turbo Avenger pulled a 205HP or something, didn't it? Even though he almost crashed on the dyno...

Hey guys, this is Ryan, owner of the Avenger. Just wanted to thank you guys for letting me get in on your group rate.

lol, the dyno incident was "interesting" lol, what happened is when they strapped me down, the strapped one side down tighter than the other, and it was causing the wheel to turn on its own (stupid fwd, lol). The dyno tech told me not to touch the wheel, so when i took my hand off the wheel, it pulled all the way to the left, lol, d'oh! hehe, scary at the time, but eveything seems to be fine.

as for my numbers, 202hp and 201 ft-lbs @ the front wheels.

automatics and fwd =

anywho, thanks again for letting me get on the dyno w/ you guys

Damn, sorry I couldn't make it... I was really looking forward to it.

The next one, I'm in for sure.

Just want to give everyone a FYI ...

Based on a 20% power loss for the drivetrain, the normal at wheel power would be about 192 hp.

Also, I have searched a large majority of the Dyno # posts, and all of the above power numbers are w/in range of what everyone else has reported ...

Hey Keith did you ever think that it might be that your car is black and therefore get's hotter than the other colors. LOL
