I had a welded diff in my Camaro for a long time. I put about 300 passes on it half of which I was spraying the car and running low 11's. Then it finally broke and I went with a full spool.

I however welded the diff and not the gearset. I cant imagine welding the gearset would work very well.

One of my mechanics welds a lot of 240sx diffs. He doesn't do it that way though.
