Default Discount Tire FTW

Just want to rant really quick and say The Discount Tire store in Gainesville will forever hold my tire purchasing business. I started getting my tires there after I found that they will match any online price for the same tire (shipped price). But today they made my day.

I had been having a very slight shake/pull for the last month or two that slowly got worse. It was intermittent and not very bad, but finally got to the point where I knew something was wrong with my car and it wasn't going to go away. I took it to Discount Tire this afternoon and they sent me to get my brakes and alignment checked at a nearby shop (since they ONLY do tires). After waiting FFOOORRREEEVVVEERRR at the shop my car finally got looked at. Turns out my toe was slightly off and had been slowly eating at my front tires for the past 20k miles. Meaning, there was really bad uneven wear on the insides of my front tires. This shop told me I needed two new tires and an alignment. I wasn't happy since the tires still had plenty of life on them. I went back to Discount Tire and talked with them because I bought an "all-inclusive" warranty on the front tires (even though I knew they wouldn't be covered since the damage was caused by my bad alignment). They confirmed that the warranty wouldn't cover them but told me they would look at it. Soon after, they tell me they can fix them... and they'll do it for free since I was a good customer They took the front tires off the wheels and swapped sides, putting the driver's side tire to the passenger side and vice-versa. They said that with the uneven wear now on the outside, the tires would even themselves out after 500 miles or so (they explained it better but I didn't follow). So they said to get an alignment in about 1k miles and I would be good to go! The car is already noticeably better, no shake or pull.

So, if anyone around Gainesville needs tires, go to Discount Tire. They can get almost anything (wheels or tires) and will price match at least the tires from an online store (I always bring a tirerack quote for them). And sorry if this sounded like an ad for them, I promise I have no affiliation with them whatsoever. I'm just a very happy customer.

Yeah, they seem to be like that here too. They swapped my rears, which were worn on the inside from too much camber.

Yeah, I've used them before, they seemed pretty decent.

Glad you got your problem fixed.
